A unified register of travel restrictions for trucks will be created in Russia
A unified register of restrictions on the transportation of heavy goods by road will be created in Russia. This was reported on the Rosavtodor website on July 31.
Over the past 20 years, the demand for special permits for the transportation of heavy and bulky goods has increased eightfold, the agency noted. For the convenience of drivers, there is a route builder that selects the optimal route, taking into account the restrictions, and a damage calculator that helps to calculate the freight transportation fee in advance.
The deadlines for issuing these documents are also being reduced: this year, the time for issuing permits has decreased by 42 percent, from 4.3 to 2.5 days.
"In the future, we will create a unified register of restrictions on highways, an electronic traffic management project and inform vehicle owners about recorded excess weight and size parameters," the department said.
