The traffic police will have more authority to revoke a driver's license.
The State Duma has prepared a bill that significantly expands the powers of the State Traffic Inspectorate to revoke driver's licenses. It introduces a new procedure for revoking driving licenses when medical contraindications to driving are identified, such as blurred vision or other diseases detected during medical examinations or medical examinations. The document also translates driver's medical certificates into an electronic format, eliminating the need for drivers to submit them to the traffic police. This is reported by Kommersant.
According to the bill, if the driver of the car shows signs of a medical contraindication to driving during a medical examination, medical examination or a visit to a polyclinic, the motorist will be sent for an emergency examination. After confirming the disease, the information is entered into the database of the Ministry of Health, the information is automatically transmitted to the traffic police, and the driver's license is revoked.
In addition, according to the newspaper, if the driver does not come for an emergency check prescribed by a doctor, his license may also be revoked. If a motorist gets behind the wheel again after canceling his driver's license, he will be charged under the article for driving a car without a license and will be required to pay a fine from 5,000 to 15,000 rubles, in which case the car will go to a parking lot.
